We are a full-service animal hospital providing comprehensive pet healthcare services in Athol, ID. Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house bloodwork, x-ray capabilities, surgical suite, dental suite, and a pharmacy. We are committed to providing quality care at every stage of your pet's life. From routine preventive care to early detection and treatment of a wide range of conditions and diseases, we have the expertise to provide the highest standard of care for your pet. We also serve clients in Athol, Bayview, Spirit Lake, Garwood, Hayden, Rathdrum, Blanchard, and Cocolalla.

  • Dr. Belinda Lowes


    Dr. Lowes is a 2013 Washington State University graduate. Dr. Lowes is originally from Washington. She practiced both large and small animal medicine before starting an exclusive small animal position. She practiced in Canada from 2015 to 2023 and is joining our team at Northwoods in September of 2023. She is making the journey back to be closer to family. Dr. Lowes has special interest in abdominal and cardiac ultrasound, and is certified to provide cardiac ultrasound service. When not practicing medicine, Belinda enjoys time with her family and friends, spending time with her horses, and watching lots of hockey. Go Oilers!
  • Dr. Frank Clovis

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Clovis is a north Idaho native that has been practicing locally for the last 25 years.  He has special interests in both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.  Dr. Clovis also enjoys dentistry, and internal medicine cases.  When he is not practicing, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sandy and their kids and enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful state.

  • Dr. Kendra Mudge


    Dr. Kendra Mudge is a native of Post Falls. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. After graduation, she worked for a year at a small animal practice in  Post Falls before joining Northwoods. She is now a CVA (certified veterinary acupuncturist!) Her interests are in veterinary acupuncture, feline medicine, and surgery. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys taking care of her two dogs, and four cats, reading, and spending time with family.
